David Benjamin Tate, T.O.Carm

I’m an experienced educator and postgraduate theology student specialising in Christian thought and tradition. My research interests lie at the intersection of theological anthropology and secular society, with a particular emphasis on human flourishing and neurodiversity.

Influenced by St Titus Brandsma and Pope St John Paul II, my developing research touches on questions of personhood, freedom, dignity, relationality, culture, and mysticism. Primarily, my concern is whether prevailing anthropologies truly affirm each individual’s unique and unrepeatable reality.

As well as my lived experience as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent person and father of neurodiverse children, this research is motivated and informed by a career in education spanning close to a decade, including primary and secondary teaching and middle and senior leadership.
